I said earlier today and this week that either McCain or Romney would be going home tonight… and will be out of the race. Romney will ruin his “brand” in politics if he tries to continue after losing. McCain simply wouldn’t have the momentum to get it done if he got 2nd. We will know soon. Someone is going home for good. If Romney loses he is for sure done for these reasons:1. He spent millions in Iowa and lost to a nobody.2. He spent millions in NH and lost to a 72 year old man.3. He has no momentum.4. He is a businessman and he is smart. If he continues people will wonder if he is really a good business man or not because he can’t cut his losses and call it quits when he is supposed to.5. His campaigns morale, fundraising, volunteer base, and energy will be lost completely.
6. McCain prevailed ideologically on all the issues (economy, war, character, trust, etc.) 7. NH is in Romney’s back yard and he failed to deliver, despite being in the NH media market for 4 years as governor. 8. The Main Stream Media is 100% against Romney from here on out 9. Romney has already earned an image as a Negative Campaigner… bad thing. 10. Romney lied this morning when he said he would win NH. His aides were very confident that he would prevail and do well today in NH. It proves Romney’s Get Out the Vote Team is not all it is cracked up to be… 2 big failures in a week! Romney has to go home.

I came across this link today as I was searching for a new couch to buy on Craigslist. It’s not surprising though considering he tried to buy the Ames Iowa Straw Poll (successfully) back in August of 07. Here is what the link said (and here is the link: http://nh.craigslist.org/pol/530770434.html): This is the Mitt Romney campaign and we are looking for anyone in NH that will vote for Mitt. We will pay you $25 for you and each person you know that will vote for Mitt on Tuesday. Just call our campaign office and we will write you a check for each individual you promise. We will have a staffer at each polling location in the state and you can check in with them when you get there. We’ve got lots of $$$… vote early and often. We can still buy this thing. E-mail me back if you’re looking for a quick 25 bucks! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htKGhe_BGV4

In the CNN-YouTube Debate, Gov. Huckabee just defended his record allow Illegal Immigrants Lower Tuition Rates than regular citizens. HUCK, LISTEN TO MITT… “IT’S NOT YOUR MONEY. YOU CAN’T JUST SPEND PEOPLE’S TAX DOLLARS ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS BECAUSE YOU HAVE COMPASSION. THAT IS NOT HOW AMERICA WORKS.” Somebody please tell Huckabee that the joke is up. His policies are freedom friendly, nor family friendly. There is so much evidence that he is borders weakling.

Huckabee = Amnesty! Here is proof from December 2006. Like John Kerry, he was for it before he was against it…

(Here’s 2 stories… the one on the bottom is linked from the Politico Website.)
Ark. Gov. Huckabee Welcomes Hispanics
By ANDREW DeMILLO
The Associated Press
Wednesday, December 6, 2006; 12:37 PM
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Gov. Mike Huckabee said Wednesday the nation is being given a chance to make up for past racism by the way it handles the influx of Hispanics.
Huckabee, a Republican who is considering a run for president in 2008, said Arkansas has made progress on racial justice and has a fresh opportunity to do the right thing in the way it welcomes the growing Hispanic population.
“One of the great challenges facing us is that we do not commit the same mistakes with our growing Hispanic population that we did with African Americans 150 years ago and beyond. We’re still paying the price for the pathetic manner in which this country handled that,” Huckabee said at a meeting of the Political Animals Club in Little Rock. The club meets monthly to hear from political figures and experts.
“I think, frankly, the Lord is giving us a second chance to do better than we did before,” Huckabee said.
PS – Here’s another piece on his shady Clinton-like ethics history.

Huckabee’s campaign is afraid that his efforts in Iowa won’t hold up. And today there are newfound signs that he is losing confidence in his chances and in his fundraising abilities. His state chair went so far as to criticize a candidate, Senator Sam Brownback, who is not even in the presidential race anymore.
From the Des Moines Register,
“Washington supported Washington,” said Bob Vander Plaats, state chairman of Huckabee’s campaign in Iowa. “It just doesn’t make any sense … he [Brownback] hurt himself if he ever plans to mount another campaign.”
Lets analyze these two statements closely…
1. Comment one: “Washington supported Washington…” That’s one way of twisting the endorsement. Return Volley: Huckabee why would you accept Rep. Don Young’s endorsement??? He is the insider of insiders inside the beltway. Young and his corrupt earmarks has sparked outrage in all conservative circles, especially circles in Iowa.
2. Comment two: “It just doesn’t make any sense. He hurt himself if he ever wants to mount another campaign again.” Is that a veiled threat Vander Plaats? What do you mean? You would rather a respected politician base his or her decision on political self-interests rather than some more important criteria?
Regardless, Vander Plaats needs to understand something: Sam Brownback doesn’t base his decision on political expediency, he bases it on faith and experience. That’s why Senator John McCain won Brownback’s endorsement. McCain has a 24 year pro-life record, he is a war hero, he has great foreign policy experience, and he can beat Hillary Clinton. In Brownback’s words, “He is the full package.”
And why does Huckabee’s have to go negative on a well respected Senator that isn’t even in the race anymore? At least this time Huckabee sent his state chair to the DMR to do his dirty work. I wonder though if Vander Plaats had taken effort to court Brownback maybe he could have won the good Senator’s nod for Mr. Huckelberry.
Message to Vander Plaats, McCain is much better than Huckabee, who is just another tax and spend liberal (socialist?) from Hope, Arkansas claiming to be the standard bearer of the Religious Right (Left?).
And the type of rhetoric now coming from the Huckabee campaign is just what conservatives in this country and in Iowa are sick of. Sooner or later Huckabee’s mouth will get him in trouble. Maybe Vander Plaats should apologize… We sure know Huckabee won’t acknowledge when he’s said something ridiculous.

Earlier this year Huckabee joked that better-financed candidates could be “sitting in a warm tub of water with razor blades.” Suicide-prevention counselors called the remark irresponsible. It was not the first time Huckabee has used the image of suicide to make a point. Huckabee never apologized for his poking fun of suicide.

Whether he sees his glass as half full or half empty, Huckabee screwed the pooch on his chances for the GOP Presidential primary today. If I were Huckabee I wouldn’t have anything in my glass because I’d be drinking away my sorrows. He really lost his chance!!!
After winning second place in the Ames Straw Poll and ALL of the free media attention, Huckabee garnered only $1 million dollars in the 3rd quarter of fundraising. Basically, proving that he cannot compete at the level where he needs in order to continue his bid for the White House. And meanwhile, Ron Paul who finished 5th, raised over five times as much! Well with that being said, we here at political pressue no longer buy Huckabee’s claim that he is a top-tier candidate or that he is gaining traction with social conservatives.

Huck’s poor performance only shows he cannot capture the highly coveted religious right. He doesn’t have the organization to pull it together and he continues to get hammered by fiscal conservatives who smell his big government plans a mile away. How does Huck expect to be competitive in any state after pissing away this opportunity that was handed to him on a silver platter? His camp must be pretty embarrassed today.
Maybe Huck should take his funds back to Arkansas to run for Senate against Pryor, a very unfavorable and unpopular Democrat who sits on the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committee, the Commerce, Science, & Transportation Committee, and the Select Committee on Ethics.
We could use him in the Senate… and it would be good for him too… he could learn some basic foreign policy instead of talking clueless on TV all the time concerning world affairs.
And please… if you have any good pressure points you want us to hit on any of the candidates send us an E-mail at politicalpressure@gmail.com.

HUCKELBERRY WENT FOR BROKE IN ARKANSAS
How will conservatives react when they find out that this tax and spend liberal supports tax increases, more BIG government spending and takeover, amnesty for Mexico and all its people all the while refusing to sign Tancredo’s amnesty pledge and flip-flopping on the issue, and has the ethical baggage of Congressman Don Young???
Mike, our advice here at politicalpressure is to set up a wedding registry to celebrate your pathetic attempt at the presidency and get started at that run for the U.S. Senate again.

Mark Pryor (D-AK) is vulnerable and you’re obviously not fit for the White House…
But please… when you run for U.S. Senate this time, PLEASE get the GOP more than 40% of the vote.
